The education landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is within the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school model isn't the only effective means of studying. Their NCV programmes are intended for students who would like to start their journey toward a satisfying job early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Department for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, about their different courses.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are made available at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a 3-year period.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These courses start at NCV level two plus the bare minimum need would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.

After the student finishes NCVLevel 2, they'd then have attained a grade ten certificate. NCV Level three would be grade 11 and NCV Level four is grade twelve.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, being comparable to a Countrywide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade 9 is on NQF level one. Our NCV programmes start NCV level 2 which happens to be equivalent to an NQF level 2.

On which sort of scholars are suited for these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that regular schooling is just not necessarily the sole technique for getting an artisan or turning out to be skilled so if a student knows from an early age what their interests are, the NCV programme is in fact properly suited for that student.
